The #HEART beats in Prague

Wednesday, 02 March 2016 12:19

The interactive heart created by our students will beat at the Fusion Hotel Prague until 30 April.

The #HEART is an interactive light installation created by three students of the Multimedia studio at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art - Gabriela Matušková, Štěpán Kuczman and Štěpán Svoboda in cooperation with postgraduate students from the Department of Cybernetics at the Faculty of Applied Sciences.  The #HEART was first introduced to the public in January 2015 on the occasion of the opening party of Pilsen - European Capital of Culture 2015. Since then it has been admired by the visitors of many events including the Pilsen Light Festival, the Prague Design Week and other events in clubs and galleries.

The #HEART reacts by changing its heartbeat and its color depending on the number and activity of people present in the space controlled by a sensor. More people and more activity bring faster heartbeat and more light effects as opposed to calm light and slow heartbeat in the calm mode. Despite its geometric shape the #HEART resembles a living organism. It has the power to involve people and connect them in common experience when they influence the heart through their own activity.

You can now see the #HEART at the Fusion Hotel Prague where it hangs above the rotating 360° Lounge Bar.

The installation is open daily between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. until 30 April 2016.
