Information for participants

Accommodation, public transport, where to eat - practical information for your stay in Pilsen

Accommodation

For out-of-Pilsen participants, it is possible to provide accommodation at the Máchova university dormitory located near the campus where ArtCamp takes place - the Sutnar Faculty is a 15-minute walk or 3 tram/bus stops away from the dormitory (tram no 4, bus no 24 and 30). For comfortable travel around Pilsen, we recommend ordering a public transport pass during registration.

Accommodation dates:
For each week of the summer school, it is always the Sunday before the course until the Saturday after the course ends - i.e. 6 nights (for longer stays, the night from Saturday to Sunday is added).

Student rooms

Single room with private bathroom / 6 nights / 124 EUR

Double room in a two-bedroom suite (shared bathroom) / 6 nights / 88 EUR

Hotel rooms

Hotel type single room with TV and private bathroom / 6 nights / 182 EUR

All rooms are equipped with refrigerators. In addition, each floor has a shared kitchen, even for hotel rooms. However, please note that the kitchen has only a limited number of basic utensils and dishes. When planning your stay, please take this into account.

Bed linen and towels are provided, WiFi connection is available throughout the dormitory.

You can see the rooms at the dormitory website.

HOw to order the accommodation

To request accommodation, please complete the registration form. As accommodation capacity is limited, we advise you to pay for your participation in the summer school, including accommodation, as soon as possible. Please note that the date of payment is decisive, not your registration date.

Any additional accommodation requests must be made by email to artcamp@fdu.zcu.cz by 31 May 2024 and will be considered based on availability.

Please note that if you do not use any of your pre-paid nights for any reason, their price cannot be deducted.

Public transport pass

The pre-paid public transport pass is the cheapest way to get around Pilsen and is highly recommended for ArtCamp students. It allows unlimited use of trams, buses and trolleybuses in Pilsen.

How much does it cost?

Unlimited travel in Pilsen costs 9 EUR for 7 days  - the pass is valid for the period of accommodation, i.e. for each week of the summer school from the Sunday before the course starts to the Saturday after the course ends.

How do I order the public transport pass?

You need to order the pass in advance when filling out the registration for ArtCamp and its courses.

If you decide to purchase it later, please email us at artcamp@fdu.zcu.cz by 31 May 2024 at the latest.

Payment is made in advance, together with the course fees and accommodation. You will receive the pass in the form of a wristband on arrival at the dormitory on Sunday (alternatively on Monday morning at the Info Point at school). You must wear it on your wrist at all times and show it to the inspector if you are checked on public transport.

What if I don't get a public transport pass?

You can buy transfer tickets directly in public transport vehicles using a contactless payment card, a mobile app or SMS tickets. An overview of all fare payment options for travelling in Pilsen, as well as detailed information on the public transport system and fares, can be found on the website of the Pilsen City Transport Company.
